Lula, the photographer behind Velvet Moon Photography, is a Nelson-based professional who brings a uniquely inclusive and calming approach to wedding photography. She specializes in creating stunning images with jewel tones and striking black and whites, working in a primarily documentary style to capture the authentic essence of each wedding. Lula has a reassuring and peaceful vibe, which is particularly welcoming to neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism, as she has personal experience with these conditions. Her goal is to ensure a comfortable and relaxed experience where being photographed is not a source of stress. She loves photographing weddings because of the emotions and “secret in between moments” that get her every time. A self-professed photography enthusiast, she has a Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma in Art and Creativity, along with a Diploma in Digital Photography. She is always learning and is passionate about her craft. Based in Nelson, Lula travels throughout New Zealand to photograph weddings, elopements, newborns, and family sessions, promising to be a calm, sweet-natured presence on your special day.
