Oh Joy Photography is operated by Stacey, a wedding and elopement photographer based in the Lower Kaimai’s on the outskirts of Tauranga, New Zealand. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Stacey immigrated to New Zealand thirteen years ago and brings an easygoing, extroverted personality to every shoot. She specialises in capturing the intimate, meaningful moments that tell each couple’s unique story, focusing on the little kisses, whispers, tears, laughter and vulnerable moments that naturally unfold on a wedding day rather than perfectly posed shots.
Stacey is passionate about natural light photography, particularly the golden hour before sunset, which she believes creates the most beautiful and authentic images. Her approach centres on building genuine connection with her couples, making them feel comfortable and at ease so the photography experience feels more like spending time with a friend than being followed by a camera. She loves the adventures each wedding brings and the connections she makes with each couple along the way.
