Kirsten Walsh is an award-winning portrait and wedding photographer based in Wellington, New Zealand. There is nothing she loves more than capturing the special moments that families will cherish forever. With over ten years of experience, Kirsten has earned multiple prestigious awards including first place in both the Wedding Category and Child Category at the 2024 Asia Pacific Photography Awards, a gold medal at the NZIPP Iris Awards 2023, multiple silver and bronze awards, finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards 2025, and gained her Master of Photography with Distinction in 2023. She is also an NZIPP Accredited Portrait photographer.

Her wedding photography showcases lots of smiles, laughter, hugs, tears, and emotion, as she tends to seek out happiness believing weddings should be the happiest day of your life so far. Her images showcase the day as it is, capturing all those genuine, real moments while also photographing all the little details couples have put time and effort into. Bridal party and family portraits are natural, fun, and relaxed, and they won’t go on forever. Kirsten photographs mainly in Wellington, Wairarapa, Kapiti Coast, and Porirua, with limited weddings further afield. Her wedding packages range from short elopement sessions to full-day coverage with two photographers.
Beyond weddings, Kirsten specializes in family portraits, preschool and kindergarten photography, corporate events, and family day fundraisers for schools and early childhood centers. Her photography style is always fun, with the goal of capturing gorgeous natural smiles that parents know and love. She has been photographing ECE kindergartens, primary schools, and daycare centers since 2015. Her friendly nature makes clients feel comfortable and creates a relaxed vibe, whether capturing extended family gatherings or intimate couple sessions, always going above and beyond to capture the essence of each occasion.
