John Miles Photography

John Miles is an experienced professional photographer with a diverse background, specializing in commercial photography, travel, and wedding photography. Born in the UK, John began his journey with a school darkroom at the age of 10. After a 25-year career in IT, he launched John Miles Photography in 2003, and in 2010, he emigrated to New Zealand, eventually settling in the photogenic Nelson/Tasman region in 2022. John describes himself as a “Photographer of LIFE,” capturing natural life, community life, family life, street life, and business life. He is a relaxed and easy-to-work-with professional who believes that “while words speak to the brain, images speak to the heart.” His passion for storytelling is evident in his work, whether he’s capturing a wedding or helping a business increase brand awareness. As an accredited Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society and a member of the Photographic Society of New Zealand, John is committed to his craft. He emphasizes the importance of professional imagery for businesses, noting that poor quality visuals can be a huge deterrent for potential customers.
